滋賀県を代表する観光名所である近江八幡。なかでも、この地を治めた関白豊臣秀次が整備した八幡堀周辺が桜の名所となっています。八幡堀の周辺には商人屋敷が並び、古き良き時代の面影を今も残しています。
春になると八幡堀沿いに桜が咲き誇り、八幡堀をめぐる舟上花見を楽しめます。この近江八幡の水郷めぐりは、琵琶湖八景に選定されていおります。歴史ある八幡堀は、時代劇のロケ地であり、運が良ければ撮影を見学できるかもしれません。

Omihachiman is one of Shiga Prefecture’s most popular tourist attractions. Among them, the area around Hachiman moat, which was built by Hidetsugu Toyotomi, is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. Around the Hachiman moat, merchants’ mansions line the street and retain the atmosphere of the good old days.
In spring, cherry blossoms bloom along the Hachiman moat, and visitors can enjoy cherry blossom viewing on a boat ride around the moat. The waterfront tour of Omi Hachiman has been selected as one of the eight scenic spots on Lake Biwa. The Hachiman moat was the location for a period drama, and if you are lucky, you may be able to observe the filming.
