酒造り発祥の地
通称松尾神社。主催伸は久斯神（くすのかみ）。
「出雲国風土記」に「たくさんの神々が集まられて、煮炊きする調理場を建て、酒を造らせた。そして長い間、毎日酒宴を開いた後、去って行かれた。そこで酒みずき（酒宴）のさかによって佐香という」とあり、酒造り発祥の地とされています。
佐香神社には室町時代から続いているという特殊神事「濁酒祭」があります。今でも、年一石（180ℓ）の酒造が許可されており、10月13日の秋季例祭では、酒造りを祝い、参拝客に造りたてのどぶろくがふるまわれています。　（出雲観光ガイドより抜粋）
